This die invites you to cut detailed swirled designs into your card edges. It combines a classic edge’able cut-out with a colourful paper pieced effect. And with many different ways to style the detailed design, it's sure to be your favourite new addition to your craft stash!
Designed and sized to work perfectly with A6 card bases, but can also work great on larger cards when trying out other effects and styles. It couldn’t be easier to create and send truly beautiful cards in just a few steps.
The Fancy Filigree set includes a die to create a delicate and beautiful design of fancy regal cut out foliage to really make your cards stand out. The finished effect is truly unique and impressive, and best of all easy to create!
Here's a simple yet handy guide on how to get started with a basic greeting card using this die:
• Fold a piece of cardstock to create a card base.
• Using a contrasting colour of cardstock, cut a piece to measure the same size as the front of the card base.
• Place the die vertically onto the front of your card base so that the die reaches both the top and bottom edges of the card base. Secure with low tack tape.
• Run this through your die-cutting machine. Once cut, carefully remove the die.
• You will be left with the right-hand side cut away from your card base, and the left-hand side still connected. The edge will be shaped by the scroll die.
• Adhere the piece of card you created in Step 2 to the underside of the front of the card base to recreate a full card front.
• Place the die onto a piece of gold cardstock and secure it with low-tack tape.
• Run this through your die-cutting machine. Once cut, carefully remove the die.
• Place the gold die-cut scroll into the ‘scroll space’ you created in the card base.
There is your card! It's as simple as that!
This die has been designed with versatility in mind. It can be used to create so many different effects on your card designs! Here are just a few ideas:
• Use them horizontally or vertically along the opening edge of your card.
• Place them across or down the mid-section of the card and add a contrasting card, vellum, or acetate to create different effects.
• Use the die-cut out as embellishments for your other craft projects such as notebooks and scrapbooks.
• Apply gilding flakes to add an extra layer of detail.
• Cut into the cardstock to create a flat seamless effect and why not use glitter card to really stand out!
There's so many other things you can do with this useful die. All you need is a little creativity!
Cutting dies are for using with your die-cutting machine. Gemini dies are flat, thin, steel dies which work with most major die-cutting machines. Please refer to your own manufacturers handbook which came with your cutting machine, to find out how to sandwich your cutting plates, cutting die and cardstock.
